Last Thursday was inaugurated at the Argentine Embassy the Christmas Solidarity Market which is open until today, Sunday, from 12 to 20 hours for those who want to enjoy typical Argentine products.
The market was inaugurated by Ambassador Ricardo Alfonsín, who thanked all those attending the event for their solidarity and, above all, the exhibitors, as the proceeds from the event will go to the Actays institution, committed to children affected by neurological diseases such as Tay-Sachs or Sandhoff.
The purpose of this flea market,” said the Argentinean ambassador, “or rather, the purposes are, firstly, to bring together Argentines and Spaniards on the eve of Christmas and the festive season in these difficult times for all countries. And secondly, because we want to promote the typical products of Argentina and those who make them available to Spaniards and Argentinians living in Spain. I hope that they will be to everyone’s liking”.
To conclude, Ricardo Alfonsín made an emotional tribute to all those who last year helped those who were detained in Spain because of the border closures due to the pandemic, the so-called los varados.
The inauguration ceremony closed with the impressive voice of the singer Jimena González, who, together with the pianist Fernando Herrera, delighted the guests with a performance of tangos and Argentinean songs.
