The Diplomat
Through its Embassy in Spain, the Nicaraguan Government celebrated in Madrid, on December 7, the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.
The Nicaraguan Embassy states in its communiqué that “In front of a colourful Altar that reflects the creativity and devotion to one of the most deeply rooted religious and popular traditions of our Nicaragua, diplomats from Panama and Bolivia, together with academics, journalists, intellectuals and friends, members of the solidarity and compatriots, gathered to sing to La Purísima”.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Carlos Midence gave a brief reflection on the meaning of this historic Marian celebration. Likewise, “in an atmosphere of Peace, Harmony, Brotherhood, respecting all the sanitary security measures”, the communiqué continues, “they shouted: Who causes so much joy? and they sang Your Glory, That’s why Christianity, All Beautiful You are Mary, among many other songs that praise the Virgin and her significance in the religious and socio-cultural imaginary of our Brave People”.
At the end, the customary toast or traditional cap was given to the attendees, which on this occasion had the collaboration of Friends of Nicaragua, such as the company BTD Proyectos. It is worth highlighting the “beauty” of the altar arrangement, which was made possible thanks to the support of Nicaraguan brothers and sisters living in Madrid.
