The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, held meetings with his Estonian, Moldovan and Ukrainian counterparts in Brussels yesterday, according to his Twitter account.

Albares, who took part in the EU Foreign Affairs Council, said he had spoken with the head of Estonian diplomacy, Eva-Maria Liimets, about Estonia’s and Spain’s candidatures to chair the OSCE in 2024 and 2026, as well as other issues on the common European agenda.

He also met with the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Moldova, Nicu Popescu, reviewing the bilateral agenda, including economic relations and Spain’s support for the EU’s economic recovery plan for Moldova, as well as for an inclusive peace process in Transnistria.

Finally, the Spanish minister held a meeting with his Ukrainian counterpart, Dymitro Kuleba, to whom he assured of Spain’s support for Ukraine’s territorial integrity and the search for a peaceful solution to the conflict in the Donbas, based on the dialogue of the OSCE Trilateral Contact Group and the Normandy Quartet.
