BBVA and ICEX Spain Export and Investment have reached a public-private collaboration agreement to provide importing and exporting companies with access to tools and services to help them in their internationalization process.
By virtue of this agreement, as ICEX informed yesterday in a press release, both institutions have incorporated in their web pages the different solutions of the two organizations so that companies can easily start their international expansion.
According to BBVA Research forecasts, Spanish exports could grow by 13.7% in 2021 and 13.9% in 2022. During the first half of this year, exports of goods have already recovered the level they had before the pandemic and the expectation is that exports, especially those of services, will make a strong contribution to growth in the coming years.
In addition, an increasing number of SMEs are entering international business. According to data provided by ICEX, there are a total of 196,000 exporting companies in Spain, of which 55,000 are regular exporters, i.e., they have exported continuously in the previous four years. Furthermore, of all the exporting companies, 38,000 have exported more than 50,000 euros per year and 15,000 more than 500,000 euros per year.
In this context, the collaboration agreement between BBVA and ICEX aims to support companies in their international expansion by providing them with access to different tools to help them design the internationalization strategy that best suits their product or service, as well as financial solutions to overcome barriers, minimize risks and contribute to the successful development of international activity from a financial point of view.
