The photography exhibition In the Mouth of the Wolf. A portrait of fear, by Nicoleta Lupu can be visited at the Instituto Cultural Rumano gallery in Madrid until 10 December.
Nicoleta Lupu, through her photographic work, reflects her fascination with human beings and their eternal existential struggles. The exhibition proposes, with a series of striking photographs where she reflects on fear and its thousand forms, a fear that deceives us and traps us, an intrinsic fear that we inherit with our own genes, that we are inculcated in schools and in our homes since we are born, a system of beliefs elaborated “for our own good” and to survive… We live in fear, we die in fear and we carry our days of fear to (non-)existence.
This project was born from the artist’s collaboration with several psychologists, who decided to help people suffering from chronic insecurity, anxiety, panic or depression, making evident the connection between photography and psychology and achieving a cathartic experience as only art can offer.
