The Exporters and Investors Club has awarded the Internationalization Prizes to Acciona, the Premo Group and the Network of Economic and Commercial Offices of Spain Abroad for their work in favor of the internationalization of the Spanish economy.
Yesterday, the jury of the Internationalization Awards met in Madrid, with which the Exporters and Investors Club has been recognizing for the past nineteen years the work of companies, institutions and individuals in favor of the internationalization of the Spanish economy. The awards consist of three categories: large company with an outstanding international projection, SME with an outstanding international projection and high official or institution of special relevance for the internationalization of the Spanish company.
The Spanish Exporters and Investors Club is a multi-sector business association whose objective is to represent and defend the interests of Spanish companies with international activity. The worldwide turnover of the Club’s members is equivalent to 20% of Spain’s GDP. They have some 800,000 employees and their investments abroad represent 50% of the national total.
According to the Club, in the large company category, the jury recognized Acciona for “its excellent performance over the years in international markets and its extremely important contribution to Spain’s image within and beyond our borders”. The company is present in 45 countries and is “a world reference in projects related to sustainability, especially in the water sector”.
Likewise, the jury has distinguished in the category of small or medium-sized companies the Premo Group, a company based in Malaga that “is also a world reference in the design, manufacture and marketing of inductive components for hybrid and electric vehicles, telecommunications and industry”. The Premo Group is present in 36 countries and 96% of its turnover comes from international business.
In the section destined to reward the institution of special relevance for the internationalization of Spanish companies, the Exporters Club has recognized the work of the Network of Economic and Commercial Offices of Spain Abroad for the “great support” it provides to companies “in their internationalization process and the effort of adaptation and flexibility they have had to make since the pandemic began to continue providing their services in a context of great uncertainty”.
The Foreign Network of the Secretary of State for Trade is made up of 98 Economic and Commercial Offices, integrated in the Spanish Diplomatic Missions and which operate as the specialized instrument of the Spanish Administration for the internationalization of the Spanish economy and the provision of services and assistance to Spanish companies and entrepreneurs abroad. They are also responsible for institutional economic and trade relations and for generating economic information on the countries in their demarcation.
The awards will be presented to the winners on December 9 during a ceremony at the headquarters of Santander Spain, chaired by the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism, Reyes Maroto, and with the participation of the Secretary of State for Trade, Xiana Méndez.
