The Oficina Económica y Cultural de Taipéi in Spain has announced that the Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival, organised by the Taiwan Institute of Film and Audiovisual, has opened the call for entries for its 13th edition, which will take place from 6 to 15 May 2022.
Under the theme Re-encountering Reality, the Taiwan International Documentary Film Festival (TIDF) aims to showcase a wide variety of documentaries that reflect contemporary global culture, with an emphasis on promoting Asian audiovisual production and providing an international platform to showcase Mandarin-language works with complete creative freedom. Through this open call, filmmakers from around the world are invited to submit their documentaries as long as they have been completed after 1 December 2019, with no restrictions on subject matter, running time or format. All films that are relevant to the social and human interests that the filmmakers or production companies consider to be documentaries are eligible for presentation within the framework of the festival. In addition, a revamped, more attractive and easily accessible festival website has been launched, both for participants and the general public, with updated information and functions. All applications to participate in the festival must be made through the TDF online registration system, with the last day of submission being Monday 20 December 2021 at 12 noon.
