Around 200 people rallied yesterday in Madrid’s Puerta del Sol against the “dictatorship” in Cuba, in favour of “freedom” and to support the ‘Civic March’ called for Monday on the island in demand for political change.

The Madrid rally was organised under the slogan “For a plural Cuba, with all and for the good of all”, by the Archipiélago Group, which also promotes those in Cuba. These, however, could not take place due to the police deployment carried out by the Castro regime.

“Our main objective is to make it clear that there is a totalitarian government in Cuba”, summarised Lázaro Mireles, of the Somos+ platform, in statements to EFE, who assured that the Cuban authorities “are destroying and suppressing the human rights of millions of people”.

The rally was attended by leaders of the PP, such as the party’s Secretary for International Relations, Valentina Martínez; and several MPs, including Pablo Hispán, Belén Hoyo and Beatriz Fanjul.

Vox leaders Ivan Espinosa de los Monteros and Rocío Monasterio and Ciudadanos leaders, such as MPs Miguel Gutiérrez and Juan Ignacio López-Bas, also attended the event.
