Paradores makes it easy for cats and dogs to be part of their owners’ getaways. Sharing a stay with pets is now possible in 31 establishments, where our four-legged friends will be treated like royalty, just like their owners!
The experience of staying in a Parador is even better in good company. That is why Paradores, together with Royal Canin, launched the Paradores Pet-Friendly project, in which twenty-one of the chain’s establishments allowed pets (dogs and cats). It went off without a hitch.
As the announcer, Juanma Romero, a member of ‘Friends of Paradores,’ points out, “the best thing about being able to go to a Parador with my pet is to see him treated like any other guest.”
And that is something that Paradores knows how to do. The project’s spectacular reception has motivated the extension of the service to ten more Paradores: Manzanares, Malaga Golf, Vic Sau, Benavente, Tui, Ceuta, Guadalupe, Melilla, Zafra and Tordesillas.
Among the attention given to the pets is a welcome pack with a food bowl, a bed, and two units of Royal Canin wet food. As Paradores takes eating very seriously, it is a given that the company offers only the highest quality products to take care of the animal’s nutritional needs and health.
Guests must make a reservation and inform the establishment in advance of their pet’s characteristics. Pets over 24 kilos and dogs of breeds considered “potentially dangerous” are not allowed. Guests must also comply with a series of rules to facilitate coexistence with other customers.
In first person
There is nothing like first-hand information. Juanma Romero, presenter of the program ¿Me pones? on Europa FM, Guille García Hoz, prestigious interior designer, and Micaela de la Maza, founder and editor of the Guías Sr. Perro, confirmed that Paradores is indeed very pet friendly.
Romero, staying with his Chihuahua Tropi, described his experience as “quiet and very relaxed. The facilities were modern and cozy, but the best thing was the human treatment. Those things make the difference.” His opinion does not differ from Micaela de la Maza’s: “the Parador del Saler, where I spent a few days with Tía, my dog, is really nice. Because of the environment, the climate, and everyone’s friendliness, you feel very comfortable, especially if you like to disconnect in nature”.
“We are a team!”
Why give up a getaway with your pet? Guille García Hoz has it clear: “I really enjoyed going with Nana and Lisa, because I love to spend my free time with them. We are a team! To be able to go on vacation together is a real blast. Those who have a pet and love them as much as I love mine will understand it perfectly.”
Micaela de la Maza puts it plainly: “Most dog-lovers enjoy ourselves twice as much when our furry friend is with us. So, it’s a real pleasure to be able to spend a few days in such a beautiful environment with my dog Tía.”
Pioneers, as always
Together with Royal Canin, Paradores is once again putting the country’s tourism offer at the forefront. Juanma Romero considers it “a great opportunity to promote travel with our pets. It is something much more widespread in our neighboring countries; having options to travel with them is something very positive”.
Paradores participates in a culture that empathizes with customers’ needs who do not want to be separated from their pets during their leisure time.
Through this initiative, it offers an almost unique possibility. Guille García points out that “there are offices where, once a week, you can take your pet. We need to normalize the entry of animals in hotels and restaurants. In my opinion, it would take us to a much better place.” And in that place, there will always be Paradores.
