Iberia has opted to reactivate its connections with the United States, its most important market, in the process of recovering its pre-pandemic levels of activity.
Yesterday, the company announced that it will add Dallas, San Francisco and Washington to its six classic summer destinations in the United States.
The announcement came on the same day that the US authorities lifted the restrictions due to the coronavirus and reopened the country’s borders for tourist travel from the European Union.
For this winter season, which began on 31 October, Iberia has already scheduled 70 flights a week between Spain and the United States, to the same destinations it operated all year round before the start of the pandemic.
Specifically, the airline has scheduled ten flights a week to New York and another ten to Miami each way; Chicago has five flights a week, and Boston and Los Angeles have another three weekly frequencies. The offer is completed with four weekly flights to San Juan de Puerto Rico, a destination that is also part of the joint business agreement for routes between Europe and the North Atlantic that Iberia has with American Airlines, British Airways and Finnair.
Iberia, American Airlines, British Airways and Finnair have an agreement to offer their customers a global route network linking more than 400 destinations in 100 countries between Europe and the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico, which will be enriched with all these routes from Spain.
In addition, customers of the four airlines will enjoy all the advantages of the joint business agreement, in particular a wide choice of schedules and the most efficient connections.
Iberia intends to put tickets on sale shortly for summer flights to all these destinations and the three that will be added.
From April, Iberia will operate four weekly frequencies to Dallas, American Airlines’ major hub, which ensures great connectivity within the United States for customers under Iberia’s joint business agreements with American Airlines, British Airways and Finnair.
As for Washington, just before the pandemic began, Iberia announced its intention to operate direct flights to that destination. Therefore, as of April 2022, the airline has scheduled four weekly flights to the US capital.
In addition, Iberia will also recover its route to San Francisco, which it operated as a seasonal flight before the pandemic. Specifically, there will be three flights a week starting in April.
