Author: Mario Garcés.

The book La Huella española en la Ruta 66 (Spanish trace in Route 66), by Mario Garcés, will be presented on 11 November at 19:30 at the Eurostars Tower, 2nd floor, Barcelona room, with the participation of Pablo Casado, President of the People’s Party, and José Manuel García Margallo, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation.

The book contains fifteen historical episodes in which, in one way or another, Spaniards have played a leading role in some of the cities or states that Route 66 crosses. Route 66 from one end to the other is approximately 4,000 km long. The reasonable minimum to do it is 11 days, although it can be extended. With the fifteen stories, it is intended that the reader can read one at each stage, and relate these cities and territories to the history of our country. The episodes vary in time from the 16th century to the 20th century. The aim is to trace a line along the route that links us to our common history, whatever the time at which it occurred. The vast majority of the characters and situations are real and their literary outline is based on painstaking research in theses, papers and reports.
