The Red de Bibliotecas Públicas Municipales of Madrid and the Centro Sefarad-Israel are launching the cycle From Book to Screen. The Holocaust through film and literature. A total of six films, which can be viewed online, and which will be accompanied by their corresponding round tables, in which the literary works that gave rise to the films will be analysed.
This exhibition of books and films will approach the subject of the Holocaust from different perspectives and approaches in order to help viewers reflect on what happened during the Second World War. In addition, not only will the public be offered the possibility of enjoying the films online, but the books will also be made available to the public in the Madrid Public Library Network, so that they can enjoy them by delving into their original pages.
And the first title that will be available online from Friday 5 to Sunday 7 November is The Conspiracy of Silence (Im Labyrinth des Schweigens), directed by Giulio Ricciarelli in 2014 and starring Alexander Fehling, André Szymanski, Friederike Becht, Johannes Krisch and Hansi Jochmann. An ambitious young prosecutor discovers how important German institutions and members of the government are involved in a conspiracy to cover up the crimes of the Nazis in World War II.
