From this afternoon until the 31st of October between 8 pm and midnight, LuzMadrid. International Festival of Light of Madrid, comes to the façade of Casa América.
To celebrate the recognition of the Landscape of Light as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first Madrid edition of LuzMadrid. International Festival of Light in Madrid, which will dress the most emblematic corners and buildings of our city with various artistic interventions.
Casa de América, located on the map of the Landscape of Light, will also be part of this initiative, which will feature light as a means of artistic transformation of the urban landscape. To be alive was to move will be Javier de Juan’s installation on the façade of the diplomatic cultural centre. It is one of the works included in Invasores Contemporáneos, a project curated by Julieta de Haro that highlights the artist’s capacity for transformation, experimentation and the conquest of new scenarios. The creators become invaders of the façades of emblematic buildings in Madrid: their cultural heritage or the life inside them symbolically expands outwards from a contemporary perspective, as an allegory of time past and present.
