Spain, the Netherlands and Europe’s future at Fundación Carlos de Amberes

On 2 November at 5 p.m., the Fundación Carlos de Amberes is organising a round table discussion on Spain, the Netherlands and the future of Europe.

 

The event will include a presentation by government officials in charge of EU policy in Spain and the Netherlands. In particular, they will address the objective of strategic autonomy and the priorities of both countries at the Conference on the Future of Europe. This will be followed by a discussion with a panel of representatives of Spanish and Dutch academia and civil society, as well as questions and answers with the audience.

 

After welcoming remarks by Miguel Ángel Aguilar (President of the Carlos de Amberes Foundation) and Juan José Ruiz (President of the Elcano Royal Institute), Anita van den Ende (Director General for European Cooperation, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands), Juan González-Barba (Secretary of State for the European Union, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation of the Netherlands), Juan González-Barba (Secretary of State for the European Union, Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation), Julia Fernández Arribas (President, Equipo Europa), Marcel Jansen (Researcher, Fedea Foundation), Rem Korteweg (Senior Research Fellow, Clingendael Institute), Anne-Marie Reynaers (Associate Professor of Public Administration, Autonomous University of Madrid) and Charles Powell (Director, Elcano Royal Institute). Simultaneous interpretation into English and Spanish will be available both in the room and in the streaming.
