As part of the XXI Settimana della Lingua Italiana nel Mondo, this morning at 12 noon at the Instituto Italiano de Cultura in Madrid, the project of the Percossi Papi workshop in Rome will be presented to discover how the Sommo Poeta has been a source of inspiration for an artistic production of jewellery that interprets the Divina Commedia.
What is Dante’s relationship with the art of jewellery? On the occasion of the 700th anniversary of Dante’s death, the Percossi Papi workshop pays homage to the Sommo Poeta by illustrating Alighieri’s path in the Divine Commedia with jewellery and artistic objects. Charon, Minotaur and the Erinias introduce the Inferno with disturbing and very rich forms. In Purgatory, envy, anger and greed represent the most feared capital vices. Paradise sparkles with jewels, miniatures and light. Art installations and valuable objects, contemporary and antique, underline the absolute topicality of this work.
