The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Péter Szijjártó, paid an official visit to Madrid on 7 October. During his stay, he met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares, with whom he discussed bilateral relations, the European agenda and other international issues.

Minister Szijjártó also participated in several other official political and commercial programmes. The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in the field of fintech between Hungarian and Spanish companies was celebrated, which “will greatly contribute to the collaboration in this new area of the commercial and business dimension”, according to the Hungarian Embassy in a press release.

Minister Szijjártó continued his official trip to Andorra on 8 October, where he was received by the head of the Andorran government, as well as the president of the Andorran parliament. At the end of the meeting with his counterpart Maria Ubach, the parties proceeded to sign the agreement on the avoidance of double taxation.
