UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson is on holiday in Marbella as his country is plunged into a deep supply crisis due to fuel and labour shortages in the transport sector.
As reported in the British press, Johnson arrived on Friday on the Costa del Sol and is believed to be staying in a luxury villa until Thursday. The newspaper contacted local authorities in Marbella, who did not officially confirm Johnson’s visit, but according to sources, Johnson is staying in a large luxury villa between Marbella and Benahavís.
The Prime Minister is reportedly accompanied by his third wife, Carrie, and their one-year-old son Wilfred. The Johnsons. They are said to have arrived on Friday and are staying at a villa in Benahavís on loan from the Secretary of State for the Environment, Zac Goldsmith, a personal friend of the Prime Minister’s wife.
Boris Johnson’s holidays have come as a surprise in the UK, because in August, Downing Street sources had claimed that the prime minister would not have a break this year.
In 2020, the Johnsons spent their August holidays on the west coast of Scotland and in 2019 they were on Mustique, a private island in the archipelago of St Vincent and the Grenadines.
Government sources defended their decision as “reasonable” and stressed that the Conservative leader has not taken a foreign holiday since December 2019, before the outbreak of the pandemic.
As the Mirror recalls, Marbella is a traditional destination for British Conservative politicians.
Johnson benefits from the relaxation of restrictions on travellers in the country since, since 4 October, there are no amber countries in the United Kingdom for risk of coronavirus, so that those arriving in British territory from countries such as Spain no longer have to present a negative test for covid if they have completed the vaccination schedule.
