Between 13 October and 12 November, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food is organising the fourth edition of the National Cycle of Cinema and Rural Women, an exhibition that combines cinema screenings in 58 localities in 12 autonomous communities and films broadcast online that can also be seen in 8 Central American countries.
The programme of the cycle, which coincides with the commemoration, on 15 October, of the International Day of Rural Women, and is part of the celebration of the MAPA Excellence in Innovation Awards for Rural Women, is made up of a total of 15 films. The cycle will open on 13 October at the Doré cinema in Madrid with the screening of the recently restored film El camino (1963), by Ana Mariscal, shown at the last Cannes Film Festival. This event will be a tribute to Mariscal, the first woman film director in Spain, and will be attended by the young filmmaker Celia Viada, director of La Calle del Agua, the film most screened at this event. The programme of the cycle can be consulted on its website.
