On Saturday 16th October at 19.30 in the Symphonic Hall of the Auditorio Nacional de Música, the Filarmonía de Madrid will open its concert season with Beethoven’s great Ninth Symphony in D minor, op. 125 ‘Choral’.
A grandiose concert that the artistic director Pascual Osa wanted to dedicate to the public with an Ode to Joy, declared a World Heritage Site since 2001. But also, exclusively dedicated to one of the most listened to composers of the last 200 years, who created the first symphony to use not only percussion, but also the choir, an exaltation of human creativity raised to its maximum exponent. Accompanied by soloists Angélica de la Riva (soprano), Manuela Mesa (alto), Emmanuel Faraldo (tenor) and Manuel Mas (baritone), under the baton of Maestro Pascual Osa, the audience will travel back in time and feel as if they were in that era, full of emotion and applauding the musicians while humming the melody that has become a symbol of freedom.
