Casa América will present tomorrow, Tuesday at 4 p.m., the candidacy of the ESMA Museum and Memory Site, former Clandestine Detention, Torture and Extermination Centre, to the UNESCO World Heritage List.
The event, entitled Memoria Argentina para el Mundo. Patrimonio del Nunca Más (Argentine Memory for the World. Heritage of the Never Again), will be attended by Horacio Pietragalla Corti, Secretary of Human Rights of the Argentine Republic; José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero, former President of Spain 2004-2011; Ione Belarra, Minister of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 of Spain; Graciela Lois, Relatives of the Disappeared and Detained for Political Reasons; Fernando Martínez López, Secretary of State for Democratic Memory; Alejandra Naftal, Executive Director of the Museo Sitio de Memoria ESMA; Pablo Gentili, Secretary for Educational Cooperation and Priority Actions of the Ministry of Education of the Argentine Republic, and Ricardo Alfonsín, Ambassador of the Argentine Republic. The event will be broadcast via streaming on the cultural centre’s YouTube and Twitter social networks.
