The National Convention of the PP, to be held in Valencia between September 27 and October 3 under the chairmanship of the party leader, Pablo Casado, will be attended by a dozen personalities of international politics, including the Austrian Chancellor, Sebastian Kurtz, the former French President Nicolas Sarkozy, the former Prime Minister of Portugal and former President of the European Commission Durao Barroso, the former Danish Prime Minister and former NATO Secretary General Anders Fogh Rasmussen, the former Prime Minister of Poland and former President of the European Council, Donald Tusk.
According to PP sources informed the Europa Press agency, the meeting will also be attended by former Mexican President Felipe Calderón, former Colombian President Andrés Pastrana, European Commission Vice-President Margaritis Schinas, Venezuelan opposition leader Leopoldo López and Cuban dissident Carlos Payá.
The coincidence of these personalities reveals that “from the outside, Pablo Casado’s project is seen as a government project”, indicated the same sources, who justified the absence of the German Chancellor Angela Merkel due to the elections that will take place this weekend and the celebration of the Day of German Unity on October 3. As for the presence of Sarkozy, convicted for corruption in March, the sources specified that he has been invited because of his period of management in France.
