The Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares, visited the headquarters of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) in Barcelona on Friday, where he met with the Secretary General of the institution, Nasser Kamel.
Albares and Kamel discussed cooperation in the region and the preparation of the next regional forum of the Union for the Mediterranean, which will bring together the foreign ministers of the member countries at the end of the year.
The Forum, which will be held in Barcelona as part of the first Mediterranean Day, will provide an opportunity to take stock and analyse the future prospects for cooperation in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
On Twitter yesterday, Albares gave an account of his visit and said: “We are working closely with the member countries of the UfM and its Secretary General, Nasser Kamel, for the prosperity and stability of the Mediterranean, a priority of our foreign policy”.
