The Embassy of the Dominican Republic, in coordination with the Directorate General of Cinema of the Dominican Republic (DGCINE) and with the support of the Ministry of Tourism (MITUR) and affiliated entities of both countries, present the 10th Dominican Film Festival “Todo Cine Todo Dominicana” from today until September 16 at various venues and cinemas in Madrid.
The inaugural event of the Showcase (which will feature 7 feature films, 3 short films and the virtual dialogue: Why film in the Dominican Republic?) will be held this evening at 19:00 at the Film Academy, in an invitation-only event, with the screening of the film Hotel Coppelia, by director José María Cabral. Tomorrow, Tuesday, the documentary by the same director, Isla de Plástico, will be screened at 6pm at Casa América. Before the screening, its director will hold a conversation with the director Marta García Larriu about documentary film. On the same day, at 7.30 p.m. in the Sala Borau of the Cineteca, the feature film 7 muertes, a Dominican-Spanish-Mexican co-production directed by Gerardo Herrero, will be screened. All screenings, from 14 to 16 September, are free entry until full capacity is reached. For more information on the entire programme of the festival, visit its website.
