Paradores launches “Nature for the senses,” a project that goes into the heart of the most spectacular landscapes of the national territory. The network offers unique opportunities to learn about rural life through unforgettable experiences, allowing visitors to become part of environments of incalculable value—a direct connection with nature joining authenticity and sustainability into an adventure that won’t leave you indifferent.

Forests, plants, animals…, nature herself have survived hundreds of challenges, winning the battles against all sorts of disasters and climatic phenomena, no matter how cruel they were. And yet now, it is more vulnerable than ever. While opening up new opportunities, development has endangered priceless ecosystems.

“Nature for the senses” embodies the scrupulous respect for the natural tapestry that has sheltered us since the dawn of time. The moment has come to listen to nature, delight in her abundance of spectacles, feel the passing of the seasons, and learn the wisdom hidden in her entrails. “Nature for the senses” offers the opportunity to slow down and connect with the rhythm of her heartbeat.

The program is rooted in Paradores’ principle of sustainability. A commitment that encompasses rural communities that have lived in harmony with the environment since ancient times. It is an opportunity to thank and honor their commitment to protecting their habitat.

Without shepherds, small orchards, and the tireless work of local businesses; without the perseverance of artisans who strive to maintain trades reviled by progress, we could not savor such delicacies as honey, cheese, and other artisan products born from work done in the picturesque villages that sprinkle our country. Towns and landscapes that deserve to be admired with the same respect and delight we regard the works of art in a museum.

Los clientes podrán conocer la actividad de los pueblos, la esencia de un modo de vida que ejemplifica a la perfección modos y maneras sostenibles.
Customers will be able to learn about the activity of the villages, the essence of a way of life that perfectly exemplifies sustainable means.

Recognition of rural life

“Nature for the senses” arises from an alliance between Paradores, local businesses, and natural and cultural resources managers. The goal is to promote sustainable ecotourism; responsible tourism generating social, environmental, and economic benefits in the territories where the Paradores are located.

The project aims to generate development opportunities, employment, and roots for the inhabitants of the selected environments and to enhance the value of their biodiversity, history, and culture.

On the one hand, the experiences intend to raise awareness to the customers and, on the other, preserve the rural life that generates an economic Benefit in the área. They also allow visitors to discover the activities and essence of this sustainable way of life.

“Nature for the senses” arises from the hand of the Global Nature Foundation and is managed by local producers (Paradores does not obtain economic benefit); the experiences are easy to carry out and can be done throughout the year.
