Under the direction of Toni García and a marvellous soundtrack composed by Manel Gil-Inglada, the big screen adaptation of D’Artacán y los tres Mosqueperros, the well-remembered cartoon series that dazzled children 40 years ago, opens today in the Spanish cinemas.
Adapted from the book by Alexandre Dumas, the film tells the story of young D’Artacán, an impetuous and innocent boy who goes to Paris to fulfil his dream of becoming a Musketeer. There he will meet a faithful friend, Pom the mouse; he will join the famous Mosqueperros (Athos, Portos and Aramis); he will fall in love with Juliette; he will be amazed by Milady, the famous spy cat; and he will confront the perverse Cardinal Richelieu. Not forgetting Rofty, D’Artacan’s steed, who will save him more than once.
