The Veranos de la Villa and the Slovenian Embassy present the famed choreographer Renato Zanella with the work Wind, with the prestigious Slovenian National Theater Opera and Ballet Ljubljana, in the Patio Central of the Centro Cultural Conde Duque from 11 to 13 August. The show is made up of two of the most successful works that Zanella created during his time as artistic director of the Vienna State Opera Ballet.
This event, programmed on the occasion of the Slovenian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, contains in the first part a solid neoclassical ballet with Ludwig van Beethoven’s Piano Concerto No. 5 in E flat major, op. 73, and in the second part pieces from the Strauss’ dream, where Zanella revisits the traditional Viennese New Year’s Concert with the best-known melodies by Strauss and Gustav Mahler. Among the most renowned musical works are Johann Strauss’ Pizzicato Polka, Mahler’s Adagietto from Symphony No. 5, or the popular Radetzky March by Johann Strauss Jr.
