July 29, 2021
in Culture & Art, Leisure

The Museum of Santa Cruz in Toledo and the Association of Friends of the Museum, in collaboration with the Instituto Polaco de Cultura invite you to the exhibition Toledo my Love-Toledo MOJA Miłość. Marian Kratochwil and Toledo, which is on display in the temporary exhibition hall of the Museum’s Noble Cloister.

The exhibition is structured around the pictorial and graphic work of the painter Marian Kratochwil (Kosów, 30 September 1906-London, 3 December 1997), preserved in the Museo de Santa Cruz in Toledo, the institution to which he donated his work between 1979 and 1985. The exhibition focuses on the work produced during the Spanish period of his painting (more than 80 works including oils, gouaches and drawings), with its various themes, mainly centred on Toledo subjects, including corners and doorways, landscapes and panoramic views of the city, as well as genre motifs, a few views of Andalusia and Cervantes themes. It is completed with a portrait of the artist by his wife, the painter Kathleen Browne.
