The Diplomat
Representatives of the various diplomatic associations came to the Palacio de Santa Cruz yesterday to be received by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, José Manuel Albares.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the Association of Spanish Diplomats (ADE), the Association of Spanish Diplomatic Women (AMDE), ExteriorEsDiverso, which brings together LGBT diplomats and officials, and the Association of Families of Diplomats and Foreign Service Officials, who presented their priorities and opinions on various issues that affect them.
The meeting was described on social networks as “productive” by both the associations and the minister, who a few days ago also held a meeting with representatives of the trade unions represented in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Albares added on Twitter “I will work for and with civil servants and employees of the Foreign Service”, while the ADE thanked the minister for “his time and his great sensitivity and willingness to work with the professional associations of the Foreign Service”. “There are many issues that need to be addressed that have been in need of a solution for years,” they said on the same social network.
For its part, ExteriorEsDiverso wrote: “We thank Minister Albares for his commitment to a modern and efficient Foreign Service in which we all have a place. Let’s keep moving forward.
