From 22 to 25 July, the chapel of the Palacio de Revillagigedo in Gijón (Asturias) is hosting the first solo show in Spain of acclaimed Taiwanese new media artist Hsin-Chien Huang, entitled A Portal to Memory and curated by Nacho de la Vega and Cristina de Silva.
The exhibition, presented by the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain in collaboration with the L.E.V. (Laboratorio de Electrónica Visual) festival, will be presented by the Taiwanese Ministry of Culture and the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Spain. (Laboratory of Visual Electronics) festival, presents three of his most emblematic works: La Camera Insabiatta from 2017, To the Moon (2018) and Bodyless (2019). In it, the public will be able to appreciate, through immersive installations in Virtual Reality format, his most representative works together for the first time in Spain. With this solo show, Hsin-Chien Huang, the collector of memory, will show his limitless creative imaginary that will come to life in the Chapel of the Revillagigedo Palace in the mythical historic centre of Cimadevilla in the city of Gijón. The public will have the unique opportunity to appreciate them as a whole and enter into authentic works of audiovisual art, live surreal experiences and reflect on Taiwan’s recent history from the author’s own memories.
