This evening at 7pm, Casa América will screen the 1985 Colombian-Cuban co-production Tiempo de morir, directed by Jorge Alí Triana, as part of the Modern Classics cycle, with a virtual presentation by Claudia Triana de Vargas, director of ProImágenes Colombia.
Juan Sayago is released from prison after serving an eighteen-year sentence for having killed Raúl Moscote in a duel. He wants to make up for lost time and live again. He looks for his girlfriend who got tired of waiting for him and must face the relentless harassment of Moscote¸ s children, raised in the obsession of revenge. It is again time to die or kill. The original picture and sound negatives of this film were recovered from Cuba and new negative prints were made in Mexico (Estudios Churubusco). Numbered tickets will be distributed at the box office of the Information Point (Plaza de Cibeles s/n) of Casa de América, one hour before the start of the activity.
