Casa de América is organising this afternoon at 7pm in its Gabriela Mistral Amphitheatre a round table in tribute to Juan Padrón, on the occasion of the publication of his autobiography, My Life in Cuba.
During the event, the book will be presented and there will be a reflection on the work of Juan Padrón, a fundamental creator of Ibero-American cinema whose work is an indisputable point of reference in contemporary animated film. In-depth connoisseurs of his work, such as the multidisciplinary designer Javier Mariscal and the journalist and writer Toño Angulo Daneri, will take part in the debate. Also present will be Silvia Padrón, the filmmaker’s daughter, who is currently developing the project “La Manigua”, a cultural centre dedicated to the safeguarding and study of Padrón’s artistic legacy.
