Tomorrow Friday at 7.30 p.m., Casa Árabe will be screening the film Gaza Mon Amour, by the brothers Tarzan and Arab Nasser, winner of the Silver Spike and the award for Best Screenplay at the 65th Valladolid Film Festival. Screening in original version with Spanish subtitles.

Selected by Palestine to represent the country at the Oscars as Best International Film, Gaza Mon Amour was presented in competition in the Orizzonti Section of the Venice Biennale and in the Official Selection of the Toronto Film Festival, where its protagonists Salim Daw (Issa) and Hiam Abass (Siham) captivated the audience with this amusing story inspired by a real event. Gaza, present day. Issa is a 60-year-old fisherman secretly in love with Siham, a woman who works as a dressmaker in the local market. When he is determined to confess his love for her, he finds an ancient Greek statue of the god Apollo in one of his fishing nets and secretly takes it home, unaware that when this valuable treasure is discovered, his life will become so complicated that it will jeopardise all his plans. Will he finally manage to declare his love for Siham? Tickets can be purchased here.
