The Diplomat
Carlos Midence, Ambassador of Nicaragua and Joan Ribó, Mayor of the city of Valencia, had a fraternal meeting last week at the Valencia City Hall.
The purpose of the visit was to strengthen ties of friendship and discuss the possibility of promoting a twinning between Valencia and a Nicaraguan city. During the event, the Nicaraguan ambassador gave an account of the progress and achievements promoted by the Sandinista government for the benefit of the Nicaraguan people. He also informed him of the coordination work between the Central Government Institutions and the Municipal Entities.
Mayor Joan Ribó thanked for the visit and expressed his interest in the progress made in Education and Health, as strategic pillars of the Welfare State, for which the ambassador spoke in depth about these issues. The Mayor also expressed his willingness to promote twinning with a Nicaraguan city that shares characteristics with Valencia, whether in cultural, geographical, economic or tourism terms.
