Síle Maguire, Ireland’s current ambassador to Spain, will soon leave her post after the Irish government appointed her as her country’s ambassador to Nigeria.

Maguire will have multiple accreditation and, from Abuja, the Nigerian capital, will represent Ireland in Benin, Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Senegal, Togo and ECOWAS (the Economic Community of West African States).

The Irish authorities have not yet announced the name of the person who will replace Síle Maguire, who, throughout the almost four years she has been in Madrid, has carried out an intense task in favour of relations between Spain and Ireland.
