Driss El Maloumi and Andreas Prittwitz Quartet concert at Casa Árabe

Casa Árabe presents a performance by Driss El Maloumi (in the photo) and Andreas Prittwitz Quartet, a fusion of Arab and European Renaissance music, on Saturday 3 July at 9 p.m. in its garden. Tickets are numbered.

There are many elements that unite Arabic music with European renaissance music. An example of this is the close similarity of instruments such as the Arabic oud and the Renaissance lute, or a percussion instrument such as the darbuka, a goblet drum, originally from Egypt, which became popular in the European instrumental repertoire. In this concert you can discover the proximity of these two worlds through their musical fusion, enjoying the talent of two internationally renowned instrumentalists: Driss El Maloumi (Arabic oud) and Andreas Prittwitz (wind instruments), who will blend their music through the virtuosity and delicacy that characterises them both. They will be joined by Said El Maloumi (Moroccan percussion) and Antonio Toledo (Renaissance archlute) in quartet format. Buy tickets at this link.
