As part of the Festival de Cannes cycle and the Comic Fortnight, the Instituto Francés of Madrid is screening tonight at 10pm in its courtyard the comedy Bécassine! directed in 2018 by Bruno Podalydès. Screening in the original version with Spanish subtitles.
The film, starring Emeline Bayart, Karin Viard, Michel Vuillermoz and Denis Podalydès, tells how on the day Bécassine was born, a band of partridges flew over the modest Breton farm where she was born. As an adult, her childlike naivety remains intact. She dreams of going to Paris, but her meeting with Loulotte, a baby adopted by the Marquise de Grand-Air, will change her life. Bécassine becomes her nanny and a great complicity is established between them. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
