The Deputy Minister of Bilateral Foreign Policy of the Dominican Republic, José Julio Gómez, paid a courtesy visit last Wednesday to the Embassy of the Dominican Republic in Madrid, where he held a meeting with Ambassador Juan Bolívar Díaz and the staff accredited in this country.

Deputy Minister Gomez spoke about the various projects he has in his portfolio for the remodeling of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, among which are the professional practice of Dominican diplomacy. He also addressed the responsibility of diplomats in their role of promoting the national interest abroad, emphasizing the national agenda within the international context.

The Vice Minister also held a meeting at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation with the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs and Ibero-America and the Caribbean, Cristina Gallach, in which they discussed matters of mutual interest for Spain and the Dominican Republic. He also met with members of the Dominican community living in Spain, among others.
