This evening at 6 p.m., Centro Sefarad-Israel will be discussing the contributions of some of the most important Jewish composers of the 19th century, with the pianist, writer and educator Juan Pablo Gavilanes.

From Mendelssohn to Gershwin, Schönberg and Mahler, the 19th century has left great Jewish names in the field of musical composition. The wide variety of styles in the works of these names shows the great cultural heritage that the Jewish world has left and continues to leave in the field of musical composition. The speaker, Juan Pablo Gavilanes, has developed his musical career on important stages with symphony orchestras and at international festivals in Ecuador, Argentina, Portugal, Spain, Italy, France, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. The conversation can be followed on Centro Sefarad-Israel’s YouTube channel, at this link.
