This afternoon at 18.30, Casa América will be previewing the film Entre perro y lobo, the latest work by the filmmaker Irene Gutiérrez, who will take part in a dialogue before the screening. The film stars Juan Bautista López, Miguel Soto and Alberto Santana.
In the words of filmmaker David Varela, “Irene Gutiérrez’s films are inhabited by the winners and losers of a world that is disappearing, that slips through their fingers every time they try to grasp it with the intensity of yesteryear. Exiles, both physical and mental, in a geographical remoteness or in an emotional vicinity that they now only share with ghosts, with the echoes of an increasingly opaque ideal. Resistance, utopia and memory are the key elements to immerse us in a cinema that moves between the symbolic, the political construction and that inexhaustible source of creation that is the most carnal reality sifted by the interaction with the other”. Tickets will be distributed at the Information Point one hour before the start of the screening.
