The Instituto Francés of Madrid continues with its series Unpublished films in Madrid, and this evening at 8 pm screens the film Les éblouis, directed in 2019 by Sarah Suco and starring Céleste Brunnquell, Jean-Pierre Daroussin, Éric Caravaca and Camille Cottin. The screening will be in the original version with Spanish subtitles.
The film tells how Camille, 12 years old and a circus enthusiast, is the eldest of a large family. One day, her parents join a Catholic community based on sharing and solidarity in which they become fully involved. Gradually, the young woman has to accept a way of life that goes against her desires, her social life and her own demons. She then begins a struggle to free herself from this subjection, to defend her freedom and to save her brothers and sisters. Tickets are available at this link.
