The Economic and Cultural Office of Taipei in Spain, in collaboration with the Madrid International Film Festival FILMADRID, presents the film Ohong Village, by Taiwanese film director Lungyin Lim (pictured), on Saturday 12 June at 6 p.m. in Hall 2 of the Filmoteca Española, Antiguo Cine Doré.
With a semi-documentary approach, this film, director Lungyin Lim’s first feature film, tells the story of a young man from a village who searches for a home to which he cannot return. The film is set in one of the most remote villages in the southwest of the island, highlighting the great symbolism of traditional Taiwanese culture. Addressing themes such as generational clash, changing economy and religious beliefs, the film is framed in a defiant nature that sinks in metaphorically and literally forming a unique expression aimed at international audiences. Director Lungyin Lim has developed his career as a film director, cinematographer and professional photographer. The full programme of the FILMADRID Film Festival is available at this link.
