This afternoon at 6 p.m., the Centro Sefarad-Israel presents the work of the photographer Vasco Szinetar in the Library of Latin American Photographers, which is part of the PhotoBolsillo collection of La Fábrica and will be presented by the photographer together with the writer Juan Carlos Chirinos.

Vasco Szinetar defines his portraits as “a collection of the other”. Born in Caracas in 1948, he has devoted more than four decades of creative activity to portraying hundreds of the most important figures in contemporary literature and culture. These are portraits in which he introduces two fundamental elements: mirrors and the representation of himself, which are added to the protagonist of each image. Thus, Szinetar is not only a portraitist, he is often also a co-protagonist of the scenes he creates. The presentation can be followed on Centro Sefarad-Israel’s YouTube channel at this link.
