La Filarmónica brings ‘A Midsummer Night’s Dream’ by Mendelssohn

On Monday 24 May at 19.30, the Sociedad de Conciertos La Filarmónica presents the suite A Midsummer Night’s Dream, composed by Felix Mendelssohn, at the Auditorio Nacional de Música in Madrid.

The well-known and captivating melody of this piece has remained one of the icons of romantic music. Conductor Alexander Liebreich (in the photo) has always demonstrated in his concerts an enormous affinity with Mendelssohn, and this time he is accompanied by the Sinfonia Varsovia, an orchestra of great tradition, and violinist Viviane Hagner, a violinist of great prestige in the classical world. Lutoslawski’s Funeral Music and Brahms’s Violin Concerto in D major, op. 77 complete the programme. Tickets can be purchased at this link.
