Técnicas Reunidas has been selected by the Polish company PKN ORLEN to carry out the expansion of the industrial complex it owns in the city of Plock (Poland) for 900 million euros, according to the company in a statement sent to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
The project will involve an investment of around 1.8 billion euros, of which Técnicas Reunidas will account for approximately half. The aim of the expansion is to maximise PKN’s petrochemical potential by adding new capacity to existing facilities. In this way, it aims to contribute to improving the European country’s balance sheet in this area of activity.
The company stressed that the project includes “full respect for the most demanding environmental protection requirements”. In this sense, the plant will be “one of the most technologically advanced in the world” from an environmental point of view. Specifically, the investment will integrate petrochemical operations with the production of clean fuels and will optimise the use of raw materials and resources in both processes.
