The Diplomat
Last Friday, the Corps of the Nobility of the Principality of Asturias, on the occasion of the celebration of the Centenary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between Spain and Estonia, held a luncheon at which they presented the Commemorative Medal of the 1,300th Anniversary of the Proclamation of D. Pelayo to the Estonian Ambassador, Mariin Ratnik.
At the beginning of the event, the Councillor for Institutional Relations of the Corporation, Alfredo Leonard, addressed the guests with a speech, in which he gave a historical overview of the diplomatic relations between Spain and Estonia. After this introduction, the Magistral Councillor of the Corporation, the Duke of Seville, presented the Commemorative Medal to the Ambassador.
For her part, Ambassador Mariin Ratnik addressed the audience in a wonderful speech in Spanish, thanking them for the award of the Medal to her person, and pointing out the strong historical and economic ties that unite Tallinn and Madrid.
The event was attended, among other personalities and authorities, by the ambassadors of Costa Rica and Lithuania; the ambassadors of Egypt, the Arab League and Bulgaria, and the Dean of the Consular Corps of Madrid, Anamaria Almasan.
