Next Monday 24th of May at 6pm, Casa América offers within the series Latin American Complexities in Pandemic, a talk with the scientific diplomat Marga Gual Soler about Scientific Diplomacy. No audience in person, only on the cultural centre’s YouTube channel.
Marga Gual argues that science diplomacy is essential to strengthen the connections between science, politics and society at a key moment in which it is necessary to rethink the future of leadership. Only in a multilateral effort that builds a real will to construct this scientific diplomacy will we be able to generate solid consensus or face shared challenges. This series of talks is made up of short recorded interventions (no more than 10 minutes) by intellectuals (in the broadest sense of the term) and scientists, all of them from Latin America, who can offer complementary and exploratory visions of the challenges we face. This is a cycle of reflection and foresight that will try to make room for solid arguments that are at the same time very direct and proactive.
