Odd Mølster, Norwegian ambassador, has celebrated in a very original way the National Day of his country, with the broadcasting of a video in which he first showed the typical dishes that are eaten to celebrate this event.
We are not only celebrating our National Day,” Ambassador Odd Mølster pointed out, “but also our unique Constitution, which dates back to 1814. At the time it was a radical constitution inspired by the revolutions in France and the United States. Today, it is a spring celebration that is commemorated with flags, music, parades and speeches”.
The Norwegian Ambassador pointed out that “Spain and Norway are parliamentary monarchies and relations between the two royal families are excellent. I would also like to emphasise the good international collaboration with Spain, especially now that Norway is a member of the United Nations Security Council”.
On the commercial front, Odd Mølster said that “Norwegian companies are showing renewed interest in Spain, which is not only an attractive market but also a source of talent for Norwegian entrepreneurs who have decided to establish part of their activities in this country. The affinities in the field of renewable energies stand out”.
The Ambassador concluded by commenting that “I have arrived in Spain in the middle of the pandemic, a circumstance that conditions us all and that has prevented many Norwegians from visiting Spain as they usually do, as it is one of our favourite holiday destinations. I am impressed by the fortitude and solidarity with which they have faced this unprecedented situation and I am convinced that we will soon reactivate and even strengthen the cultural and human commercial ties that link us”.
Accompanied by the director of the Norwegian Seafood Council, the ambassador displayed a table full of traditional National Day dishes, such as, of course, smoked salmon, king crab, sausages, as well as ice cream. And the special dessert of the festival, multekrem.
