The Diplomat
The Council of Ministers yesterday appointed Ernesto de Zulueta Habsburgo-Lorena to the post of Ambassador-at-Large for Digital Transformation of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Born on July 7, 1961 in New York, Ernesto de Zulueta holds a degree in Sociology and entered the Diplomatic Career in 1987. He has been posted to the Spanish diplomatic representations in Russia, the United Nations, Uruguay and Singapore. He was also commissioner for Institutional Relations of the V Centenary, technical advisor to the Cabinet of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and deputy director general of the Andean Community countries.
In 2007 he was appointed consul general of Spain in Dakar and in 2010 he was appointed deputy head at the Spanish Embassy in Warsaw. In January 2012 he was appointed director general for North America, Asia and the Pacific and between June 2015 and June 2020 he was ambassador of Spain to the Republic of Peru. He was currently an advisory member of the Technical Cabinet of the Undersecretariat.
