Today Monday at 12.30 p.m., Casa Mediterráneo presents a Permanent Online Seminar University of Alicante – Casa Mediterráneo on Job Opportunities in the European Union. During the session, the head of Europe Direct Comunitat Valenciana, Ana Alonso, will present the mobility and employment resources that the European Union offers for young people and how the internship programme in European institutions works. On the other hand, Víctor Rico, a European Commission official and former student of the University of Alicante, will talk about his personal experience of the competitive examination process and his day-to-day work at the European Commission.
Tomorrow at 7 p.m., as part of the series The Mediterranean Today, the conference on the Future of Europe will take place, with the participation of Manuel Desantes, Professor of International Private Law at the University of Alicante, and Daría Terrádez, Director General of Relations with the European Union and the State of the Generalitat Valenciana. This conference is a citizen participation initiative launched on 10 March by the EU with the official signature of the President of the European Parliament, David Sassoli, the Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, on behalf of the Presidency of the Council, and the President of the Commission, Ursula von der Leyen. On Wednesday 19 at 7 p.m., as part of the Gastronomy and the Mediterranean series, the conference Mediterranean diet and sustainable gastronomy. Reflections from the Valencian experience, by the academic director of the Carmencita Chair of Gastronomic Flavour Studies and the Mediterranean Gastronomy Centre GASTERRA, Josep Bernabeu. To conclude the week’s events, on Thursday 20th at the same time, the Women and the Mediterranean series will have a meeting with the President of the Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats in the European Parliament, Iratxe García (pictured), who has a long career in European institutions. Focusing on Mediterranean women, the event will address their current situation and the actions carried out by the EU in the area of equality with the aim of protecting their rights in all areas of today’s society.
