As part of the cycle Films nominated for and awarded the César 2021 prize, the Instituto Francés of Madrid is screening this evening at 8pm the film La nuit venue, by Frédéric Farrucci, winner of the César 2020 prize for Best Soundtrack.
Paris, 2018. Jin, a young undocumented immigrant, drives a VTC every night for the Chinese mafia. His errands are peppered with sophisticated electro, a remnant of his past as a DJ in Beijing. One night, Noémie, a stripper and prostitute, gets into his taxi. Intrigued by Jin’s silence and aura, transported by his music, she decides to make it her regular taxi. The love story that develops between them pushes Jin to break the rules of the business.
